Recent Events: Group Day, July 2015

The Xena Project was honored to welcome veterans from Camp Hope on a beautiful Saturday in July.

Highlights included a visit by miniature horse Star, a decorated competitive carriage driving horse who this day doubled as an art therapy subject.  Army Vietnam veteran Larry Lobash, a well-known name in car restoration throughout the state, drove over several of his beautiful classic cars; the Liberators Motorcycle Club contributed several bikes to a static display.  We were humbled by the presence of Wolf Biedenfeld, a United States Army veteran who served in Vietnam after immigrating to America; while a child living in Germany, he survived both the bombing of Dresden and the Russian Occupation.  Wolf now acts as a judge advocate at the VA, so was able to both share his wisdom, insight, and experiences, and answer practical questions.

Veterans from all branches of service, representing combat experience in a wide swath of conflicts, gathered as volunteers. Thank you, all, for your continued service to the veteran community.
