Thank you, Rocky Road (call sign: “Little Goat”)

On behalf of every veteran and family member who has set foot on the facility within the last month, The Xena Project would like to say “thank you” to one incredible little goat.

Rocky Road was born in May 2015, and was bestowed a name by photographer Autumn Phillippi, who mused that the goat’s markings look a lot like ice cream.  Thin but healthy, the little goat was abandoned by its mother for unknown reasons and became the first bottle-fed goat at the facility.  When the incessant bleating cut into work, the little goat rapidly became a part of every counseling session conducted at The Xena Project, then a star attraction.  Now, feeding Rocky Road is practically an entrance requirement, and the little goat has a standing engagement for every group event on the schedule.

Thank you, Rocky Road, for lending your incredible healing energy to The Xena Project.  We are grateful.  We love you.
